Configurator- Sustaining Technician

Duke Manufacturing is looking for an Configurator- Sustaining Technician to join our IT team! Duke's purpose is to Nourish Our World through integrated solutions that connect people, equipment, and technology to improve throughput, efficiency and quality.

Technicians' primary responsibility will be to develop and execute new configured products, manage and maintain accurate configured products, assemblies and finished goods, manages and maintains all methods of materials/operations, manages and maintains all configurator programming and processes. Support NPD and manufacturing in the creation, maintenance and accuracy of finished goods and component inventories. In addition to the primary responsibility, their work may involve designing, modeling, testing, and producing prototypes and production units. They are also responsible for using the ECO (Engineering Change Order) process when applicable.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities we are looking for:

  • Develop plans and coordinates efforts to continuously improve inventory record accuracy in order to support accurate material planning, costing, and customer service requirements.
  • Enter and maintain parts master records in the computer system as required to support accurate material planning, costing, and inventory transactions.
  • Maintain records of inventory levels, inter plant transfers and inventory adjustments as required by Accounting.
  • Investigate inaccurate system inventories to determine root causes; publish results along with recommendations for any corrective actions required.
  • Manage and Maintain all MOM's.
  • Develop and execute new configured products, manage and maintain accurate configured products, assemblies and finished goods, manages and maintains all methods of materials/operations, manages and maintains all configurator programming and processes.
  • Construct design and execute new configured products, work with all departments to program configured products that best meets all departments, requirements.
  • Direct and coordinate all audits of bills of materials. Publish the results of all audits and distribute to the appropriate personnel.
  • Investigate inaccurate bills of materials to determine root causes; publish results along with recommendations for any corrective actions required
  • Primary programmer for all labels required for regulator's for all product lines. (and any other labels required for production.

Physical Job Requirements:

  1. Speaking to employees and customers.

Workplace Environmental Conditions:

  1. Typical office environment and development lab environment.
  2. Occasionally subject to sufficient noise causing worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
  3. Occasional exposure to oscillating movements (vibrations) of the extremities or whole body.
  4. Occasional exposure to hazardous conditions: proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, explosives, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
