Director of Continuous Improvement

Reports to: VP of HR

Partner with Functional leaders across the business to develop the Continuous Improvement (CI) strategy and lead Duke's CI resources to provide support and expertise, to create Flow across the organization. Collaborate with Executive Team and EMT to support CI strategy deployment to achieve alignment with CI initiatives across the Enterprise.

Job Description

Lead the CI Function, CI Operating System & Enterprise CI Steering Team to develop a culture of continuous improvement, focused on developing people and engaging our workforce in problem solving; use data to identify breakthrough CI opportunities that can transform business results; and create sustainable, effective process- and system-level improvements to deliver steadily increasing value to our customers.

• Strong critical thinking and root cause problem solving ability; ability to ask catalytic questions to increase the velocity and impact of problem-solving efforts.

• Ability to deal with ambiguity, reduce complexity, develop and apply systems thinking.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in a business field; Master's degree preferred.
• 10+ years' experience in manufacturing; capital equipment manufacturing preferred.
• Experience leading teams of employees in a manufacturing environment
• Advanced knowledge/certification in Lean, TQM, Agile, 6Sigma, and related methodologies

Workplace Environmental Conditions:

1. Typical office and factory environment.
2. Travel requirement: Periodic overnight domestic, and infrequent international, travel may be required (approximately 10-20%)
