Employee Relations Specialist

Duke Manufacturing Company is looking for a HR Generalist or Employee Relations Specialist/Advisor to take on a new role at our largest manufacturing facility to manage employee relations, guiding and supporting Supervisors, Leads and employees through employee relations matters.

This position would be mainly focused on managing investigations, supporting leaders in the performance management and development process, managing the LOA program, and helping to create and deliver leadership training.

This position may be a good fit for you if:

  • You enjoy working with employees and leaders daily to solve problems as it relates to employee relations
  • You have experience supporting HR in a manufacturing industry and/or supporting a large hourly workforce
  • You have solid HR basics experience and knowledge of employment laws and regulations

Some of your responsibilities as the Employee Relations Specialist include:

  • Provide sound advice on workplace issues and conflicts to Operations Supervisors and Managers to support risk mitigation, resolution of employee issues, and identify performance management opportunities
  • Support the development of an employee orientated company culture that creates high levels of engagement and is aligned with Duke's Purpose and Values.
  • Support the development of Duke's front line Supervisory staff in employee engagement/relations matters as it relates to giving coaching and feedback, Performance review, performance improvement and/or development including progressive disciplinary process.
  • Manage the employee leave and ADA process; ensure appropriate processing in place; manage 3rd party leave administrator relationship
  • Identify opportunities for improving Duke's progressive workplace policies and procedures based on analytics and trends.

Basic qualifications for this role include:

  • Ideally candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in HR or business related field and work experience in related HRM disciplines; A combination of education, HR Certification and experience in MFG industry will be considered
  • Experience in Employee Relations Support
  • Strong prioritization skills, communication and problem solving skills

This position is an onsite position with very limited remote work options.

Pay range is $60,000 - $70,000
