Engineering Technician Supervisor

Job Summary
Responsible for supervising the work of direct reports, setting expectations and clarifying responsibilities. Delegate tasks and project assignments to team and schedule the work to meet targets and goals.
Evaluate team through daily contact to develop an understanding of the skill levels of each employee. Provide real-time feedback and guidance on areas where performance could improve. Identify and create individual development and training plans to meet team goals.
Perform CI tasks to identify root cause and corrective actions. Influence group to move towards a Problem Solving culture. Monitor output to ensure team is operating at maximum efficiency.
Develop and use capacity planning tools to determine the engineering capacity needed by the value stream to meet demand.
Manage minor and occasionally major assigned projects. Track and ensure that all project open action items are getting handled in an appropriate timeframe and manner.
Functional Area: Modified Standards
Organize the workflow through the value stream group and when possible coordinate job rotation and cross-training to ensure continuous flow. Provide the technical direction to deliver on-time.
Responsible for developing and maintaining standard practices & procedures, and "best practice" within the value stream group. Ensure standard practices, procedures, and best practices are shared and followed.
Help the group understand the value-stream and group's targets and goals. Assist in creation and tracking of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for group (FPY & OTP most common).
Establish, update, communicate, and hold product standards.
Education/ Experience:
- 4 year degree preferred
- 6+ years experience
