Logistics Analyst
Job Summary:
The logistics Analyst will lead enterprise efforts to continuously improve Duke's logistic activities including routing and review of inbound and outbound freight, transportation carrier management, specialized delivery programs, product rollouts, and freight damage reduction efforts. Support sourcing and operational teams by reporting KPIs, resolving escalated issues, and identifying waste and opportunities for cost-savings and operational improvements.
Essential Functions:
- Support logistics processes and systems across the enterprise
- Review and improve policies and procedures for logistics activities
- Lead carrier performance management and assist in selection
- Plan or implement improvements to internal or external logistics systems or processes
- Report and monitor specific logistics-based performance measurements (OTD, Freight Damage, etc.)
- Recommend and implement optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment and frequency
- Design models for use in evaluating logistics programs or services
- Analyze the financial impact of proposed logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes, or carriers
- Analyze all aspects of corporate logistics to determine the most cost-effective or efficient means of transporting products or supplies
- Recommend warehousing or other distribution solutions to improve performance
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes, such as customer sales, order management, planning, accounting or shipping
- Create and lead a logistics operating system that includes regular stakeholder review, feedback, and a PDCA cycle to continuously improve results
- Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports, or customer issues
- Develop/implement logistics capabilities that support enterprise and value stream initiatives.
- Monitor product import or export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements

Job Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree with emphasis on Supply Chain preferred or relevant work experience and knowledge
- Previous Supply Chain experience of 0 - 5 years preferred
- APICS or ISM professional certification preferred
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Demonstrated/excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office tools and business system queries
- Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team-based environment
- Experience with ERP systems
- Data manipulation and analysis required for making sound business decisions

Workplace Environmental Conditions:
- Typical office and manufacturing plant environment
- Capable of periodic overnight travel, < 20%
- Occasionally subject to sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to heard above the ambient noise level.
