Duke Manufacturing is hiring for a Logistics Manager to join our Supply Chain Team at our Sedalia, Missouri location.

Job Summary:

Leads the execution of the organization's warehousing, transportation, and distribution strategies. Responsible for process and metrics to deploy an optimized logistics network, manage warehousing best practices, and dock operations. Uses analytics to monitor and measure performance, proactively identify waste in operations, and supports Duke's strategic objectives.

The Logistics Manager assists in identifying personal and professional development needs and opportunities for team members. They promote ongoing training, preparing team members for more advanced responsibilities. The Duke Supervisor must develop team members and their team to ensure "Permission to Play" values, uphold Duke "Core" values and strive for Duke's "Aspirational" values.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and Lead Logistics Processes Across the Enterprise
    • Lead carrier performance management and selection
    • Plan and implement improvements to internal or external logistics systems or processes including import/export compliance and brokerage services
    • Review and improve policies and procedures for logistics activities.
  2. Design and implement optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment and frequency.
    • Evaluate logistics operations through data driven models
    • Improve warehousing and distribution services financial performance
  3. Collaborate with other functional areas to incorporate logistics activities
    • Lead a logistics operating system that includes regular stakeholder review, feedback, and a PDCA cycle to continuously improve results.
    • Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports, or customer issues.
    • Develop/implement logistics capabilities that support enterprise and value stream initiatives.
    • Monitor product import or export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements.
  4. Manage Duke Sedalia (North Dock, South Dock, Parts Depot, Warehouse, Main St. locations) shipping and receiving operations
    • Create best practice process and standard work for department work
    • Develop KPIs to measure team performance
    • Coordinate with other departments such as Customer Care on critical shipments
    • Lead problem solving activities and develop lean problem-solving skills in team members
  5. Lead Duke Sedalia processes for warehousing and distribution of materials and finished products
    • Deploy best practice warehouse management strategies increasing efficiency of capital and labor resources
    • Establish matching warehousing capacity to support growth initiatives
    • Improve and standardize current for receipts, order-picking, and outbound order management
    • Ensure effective and safe use of warehouse equipment
  6. Improve the technical, teamwork, and leadership capabilities of direct reports consistent with Duke's values and a servant leadership style.
    • Develop future leaders and identify internal growth opportunities to support their development
  7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  1. Previous Supply Chain management experience of 7+ years required
  2. APICS or ISM professional certification preferred.
  3. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business or Supply Chain preferred
  4. Demonstrated/excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office tools and business system queries.
  6. Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated.
  7. Demonstrated ability to work in a team based environment.
  8. Experience with ERP systems. Epicor preferred
  9. Data manipulation and analysis required for making sound business decisions.
  10. Ability to travel domestically and internationally as business needs dictate.
  11. Experience with ISO/QMS.
