Marketing Intern

Job Summary:

Duke Manufacturing is looking for an enthusiastic marketing intern to join our marketing department. This position assists the marketing department with administrative duties, social media messaging and development and implementation of marketing strategies. As a marketing intern, you will collaborate with our marketing and sales teams in all stages of marketing campaigns. Your contribution will help develop, expand and maintain our marketing channels, specifically in social media and tradeshow event coordination and planning. This internship will help you acquire marketing skills and knowledge in a professional environment, giving you experience while earning a competitive wage. Hours are flexible and we can work with you to accommodate your current class schedule.

Essential Functions:

1. Develops Social Media Plans including the creation of content and posting of content to Duke's social channels
2. Assists in tradeshow preparation
3. Supports the marketing team in daily administrative tasks
4. Prepares promotional presentations
5. Assists in transfers of marketing collateral to print production and distributes collateral as required
6. Assist in project management for assigned tasks

Job Qualifications:

1. Education: Must be pursuing a Marketing/Advertising/Business degree with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
2. Must be familiar with Social Media platforms, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel, ability to craft professional, engaging copy. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite a plus

Required Abilities

1. Strong desire to learn along with a professional drive and teachable spirit, willing to learn from others
2. Solid understanding of different marketing techniques and a passion for the marketing industry and its best practices
3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
4. Excellent knowledge of MS Office
5. Familiarity with marketing computer software and online applications (e.g. Social Media Platforms, Proof HQ, Google Analytics, and Wordpress)
6. Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 lbs
