Material Planner Rotation - Temporary learning assignment

The Material Planner Rotation allows team members the opportunity to learn more about the planning function and develop out a new skill set.

Job Summary: Works closely with planners to cover the gaps on planning essential functions to ensure they are completed at their intended frequency and reports any issues on the process to the planners for resolution.

What can I expect?

  • Understanding of the Planning Process. The knowledge that you will gain during the rotation program will help you better understand Duke planning process.
  • Personal & Professional Development. The rotation position doesn't guarantee promotion, it is a step in your development to help yourself and others grow to learn and execute the Duke Business System.
  • Length of Assignment. The typical time for the rotation position is 4-6 months and/or may be based upon your performance in the role.
  • Upon completion of rotation. Upon completion of the rotation assignment, HR will review with you the available openings for which you are qualified. If possible, we will attempt to place you in the same or similar role to which you came from. If you are a Lead Team Member and recommended for the Job Rotation as a part of your development, you will be placed back in your same lead assignment upon completion.
  • Performance Evaluation. Planning Supervisors will gauge the candidate's progress with a training roadmap to include regular performance feedback and a 90-day evaluation. Team members are responsible for good attendance habits, high professionalism, and performance of the basic assignments while in the role.

What will I be doing?

  • Working closely with planning on EPICOR processes.
  • Scheduling parts and finished goods on time to meet customer demand.
  • Assist with cycle counts and kanban accuracy.

What skills are needed?

We are not expecting the candidate to have any formal background in Planning.

Minimal requirements for this role however do include:

  • Must have basic computer skills-
  • Be able to work with basic Microsoft Office Applications Excel, Teams, Outlook (email) etc.
  • Able to navigate EPICOR
  • Be able to work independently as well as a team environment.
  • Be professional, organized, and maintain regular attendance.

What is the pay?

  • As this is a temporary position and a learning opportunity, there will be no change to your pay in the rotation assignment.
