Duke Manufacturing is hiring for a Materials Manager to join our Supply Chain team!

Job Summary:

Leads, coaches, and develops the team responsible for Material Planning, Production Scheduling, and Inventory Management with a focus on optimizing the cost of the supply chain to support customer requirements and Duke's strategy deployment. Establishes and continuously improves processes to remove waste from processes and increase efficiency of team-members. Provides Supply Chain Inputs to organization's SIOP activities. Collaborates with other supply chain functional areas to make critical decisions.

Support direct reports through personal development and further the skills and knowledge of the Material Planning and Production Planning team. Utilize Lean techniques in problem solving efforts. Lead cross-functional efforts to improve the performance of Duke's Supply Chain.

Job Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Create best practices for material planning activities:

  • Automation and utilization of ERP system
  • Minimize stock outs and expedites
  • Identification and mitigation of risks in the Supply Chain

Ensures up-to-date production schedules for all lines:

  • Determines needed capacity
  • Manages product lead-times
  • Coordinate ship dates of customer sales orders

Implement Inventory Management across the Enterprise:

  • Set targets and manage Days of Supply
  • Budget and report inventory valuations
    • Purchased, Finished, Excess and Obsolete management

Represent Material Planning and Production Scheduling in SIOP activities:

  • Order backlogs, lead-times, production capacity, rollout management
  • Interpret sales plans into operational schedules

Coordinate with supply chain functions such as Sourcing, Logistics, and Operations:

  • Lead improvement activities using Lean techniques
  • Identification of root cause and corrective actions for supply chain disruptions

Provide training and support team members in their personal development:

  • Identification of growth opportunities
  • Ensure team-members have needed tools and equipment
  • Develop leaders within the team and provide them with opportunities to advance

Maintain department activities:

  • Prioritization of team-members
  • Review completion of key tasks
  • Report department metrics

Develop positive relationships with internal and external customers:

  • Collaborate with Duke's other functions
  • Team-members support and share knowledge with each other

Maintain appropriate levels of resources in the department to support Duke's strategy:

  • Manage interviewing and recruiting process

Maintain forward looking presence at new Supply Chain tools and techniques:

  • Review professional journals, industry leaders for emerging practices

Job Skills and Qualifications:

1. Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent. Bachelor's Degree in Business or Supply Chain preferred

2. Previous Supply Chain management experience of 7+ years

3. APICS or ISM professional certification preferred.

4. Demonstrated project management skills.

5. Demonstrated/excellent verbal and written communication skills.

6. Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office tools and business system queries.

7. Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated.

8. Demonstrated ability to work in a team based environment.

9. Experience with ERP systems. Epicor preferred

10. Data manipulation and analysis required for making sound business decisions.

11. Ability to travel domestically as business needs dictate.

12. Experience with ISO/QMS.
