Job Summary:
The primary challenges of this position are to successfully integrate Sales-Core programs into the region, to promote the sales of company-branded products to achieve maximum market penetration, and to attain both short- and long-range objectives for retail sales growth. The incumbent has a functional responsibility to the sales force in their designated areas.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for the strategic business planning for the Core Value Stream segment of the region's business. This includes forecasting sales, as well as the profit expected from the sales. Preparing a strategic roadmap using SMART goals to determine what is required to grow revenue by a minimum target each year.
- Spend approximately 40-50 percent of his or her time traveling in order to provide support to sales representatives, assisting end users, making customer presentations, and building relationships with key accounts. The incumbent trains the sales representatives by advising them on how to properly merchandise the unit; selling methods and techniques; handling promotions; holding sales meetings, etc. Ensures sales representatives are properly motivated and fully educated.
- Maintains and expands relationships with strategically important large customers. Assigned to five to ten named customers and is responsible for achieving sales quota, profit objectives and assigned strategic objectives for these specific customers. Represents the entire suite of Duke products and services to assigned customers, while leading the customer account planning cycle and ensuring customer's needs and expectations are exceeded by Duke Manufacturing.
- To develop opportunities through end-user contact, dealer contact and the training of sales force.
- The incumbent keeps the Vice President of Sales - Core informed of his or her activities on a regular basis. He or she generally has wide authority in performing most aspects of the job, such as scheduling his or her own workload and making day-to-day decisions necessary to perform his or her function. He or she participates in the quarterly sales planning meeting by presenting new sales plans and programs.
- Meets assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in assigned accounts
- Leads solution development efforts that best address customer needs, while coordinating the involvement of all necessary parties
- Proactively leads a joint company strategic account planning process to develop mutual performance objectives, financial targets and critical milestones for a one and three-year period
- Coordinates all activities in the assigned region to ensure maximum sales and profits. Assists with producing the business plan, marketing programs, goals, sales forecast, etc.
- Develops new business and expands current business while servicing existing customers.
- Plans and supervises sales representatives to ensure they are fully educated about their product lines.
- Trains sales representatives in proper merchandising methods, selling procedures, and the running of various types of demonstrations.
- Advises the Vice President of Sales-Core on market trends and changes.
- Keeps informed of competitors' activities through review of information from the field or from other sources
- Assists in developing pricing structures for individual dealers and markets.
- Provides technical support and assistance to sales representatives and end users.

Job Qualifications:
- Experience: Three (3) to seven (7) years in the food service equipment manufacturing industry managing reps including an outside selling capacity
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field required, with an emphasis in Marketing, or equivalent. An extensive knowledge of product selling and company products,
Physical Job Requirements:
- Speaking to employees and customers.

Workplace Environmental Conditions:
- Typical home office, corporate office and field sales environment.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically 40-50%
- Ability to rent and operate motor vehicles for business travel
