Supply Chain - Sourcing and Logistics Intern

Job Summary:

Promote Duke's Supply Chain department by leading cross functional projects aimed at improving current processes and delivering on strategic objectives.

Essential Functions:

  1. Create monthly process to incorporate multiple data sources surrounding Duke's freight damage and claims process into a comprehensive summary that shows trends and abnormalities
  2. Review logistics program for local (STL + KC) vendors and recommend optimal solution
  3. Partner w/ internal and vendor resources to compile accurate Freight Classifications for all product groups and the top 15% of revenue generating items. Create process to review carrier changes to classifications and the appropriate update to Duke's databases
  4. Support Sourcing and Compliance departments through vendor communications around key information such as HTS codes and Country of Origin information

Job Qualifications:

  1. Education: Enrolled in program to attain Bachelor's Degree or equivalent. Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or Business desired
  2. Demonstrated project management skills
  3. Demonstrated/excellent verbal and written communication skills
  4. Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office tools and business system queries
  5. Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated
  6. Demonstrated ability to work in a team based environment
  7. Data manipulation and analysis required for making sound business decisions
  8. Ability to make occasional day-trips to Sedalia, MO manufacturing facility
